Joined together at the pinky

We were not together long enough to
Blend in together with the background

Just enough to become a part of
Each other’s memories that may
As well just be paint destined to
Chip and fade away in a while’s time

No limit, without duration,
Unpredictable, but is due,
Any day could very well be now

So I dare pray for when
That time arrives that
I do not feel a single thing

May my memories be simply that hollow,
With no lingering attachments to that pinky
I had made a promise with countless times
For countless reasons do we as hermits
Go on in our own ways, never to cross paths

For what use is an anniversary if,
There is nothing to be celebrated?
